Monthly musings, information, and updates to deliver encouragement and hope your way.

Facilitating an inner healing group, “Mending the Soul.”

I am privileged to facilitate and offer the “Mending the Soul” process for inner healing from the impact of abuse on one’s heart, mind, and soul.

I am in the midst of facilitating a group right now.

It is such an honor to witness the insights, inner healing, personal growth, and renewed hope in these women's lives.  As one of my participants said during our last group session, “It is so helpful to have the words to frame what had happened to me.  For so long, I couldn’t find the words.”  And, another woman shared that she is “growing so much and realizing so many things, in particular about the coping mechanism of “numbing.  I am exploring what it is to get in touch with what I think and feel and how to express that.”

This curriculum and group process is a starting point, a foundational healing model.  It offers those impacted by physical, sexual, spiritual, verbal, neglect, and others forms of abuse a safe place for transformative healing within a trauma-informed, theologically sound, nurturing community.

Participants in the Mending the Soul Basic Small Group find inner healing within a safe and confidential small group community where peer survivors find the freedom to share their stories, often for the very first time.  They will experience freedom and encouragement as they make their way through the biblically-grounded, research-based, and psychologically-integrated textbook and companion workbook.

FYI:  The next offer to participate in this group process will be November of this year.  The deadline for sign-ups will be October 9th.  If interested or want to share this with someone who may be interested, click here for a Virtual Coffee chat to visit with me and learn more.

Boundaries have come up quite a bit this past month with my groups, clients, and in other areas of discussion.  With that said, the must-have book on this subject is,

The Word

I hope the following verses encourage and uplift you in the midst of your circumstances as they have for me.  Also, I hope that you claim these promises that our Heavenly Father has for us for yourself.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 34:4–5, 8

I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I lift up Deanna. I pray that your beloved Deanna rests securely in your arms, experiencing your peace that is beyond all understanding as Deanna proceeds through the labyrinth of life.  We know that You see Deanna and know Deanna.  You are always looking down and inviting Deanna to partner with you, saying “come this way,” “say this to them’, “know this,” and so much more.  May your beloved Deanna be listening, having ears to hear, and in faith walk wherever you lead.  It will be the best place for Deanna to go, a place Deanna wouldn’t have even realized or imagined.  Dear Lord, give Deanna the faith to have faith and to act in faith, for faith comes from You. I pray this in the beautiful name of Jesus, amen.

With Gratitude,

Deanna Lang, C.L.C.
