Mend Your Soul "Monthly Moments" Newsletter, September 2021

Monthly musings, information, and updates to deliver encouragement and hope along your way.

The Summers' “Mending the Soul Group” has concluded.

The participants from the group received so much value from what the curriculum and group processes had to offer, and each experienced the knowledge, personal insights, affirmations, and inner healing that God had for them in the midst of their healing journey from the effects of abuse and trauma.

Some of the feedback from the participants were.

  • “I feel better.”
  • “Talking about it was huge.”
  • “It helped so much to talk about it.”
  • “This is the first time that I felt safe to share about it.”
  • “It’s important to know there is hope; this has given me hope.”
  • “I feel empowered to use my voice to order my life and set good boundaries.”
  • “…stronger faith in my Father...”
  • “Sharing in a place that is relationally safe is precious and healing.”

Each participant has connections, resources, and tools to continue even further in their healing journey.

FYI:  The next offer to participate in this group process will be November of this year.  The deadline for sign-ups will be October 9th. What is Mend Your Soul Ministries up to??

We are officially a 508a1c, a Non-Profit Faith-Based Corporation!!!

Our Vision is to lead people into an authentic, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ by sharing the Gospel Message and providing Discipleship.

Our Mission is to minister to the brokenhearted, the struggling, the hurting, and the marginalized by pointing them to the love, inner healing, grace, and relationship with Father God, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who restores the heart, mind, and soul. In particular, supporting those who’ve experienced abuse, rediscover their worth, truth, and purpose by providing Christian Life Coaching and Discipleship to help them find freedom from the negative effects of those abusive experiences and fully experience the life that Jesus Christ intends for them to have.

In October

We plan on facilitating an online Her Journey Group and an in-person Her Journey group in the Texas Rio Grande Valley area.

  • Her Journey is a 15-week faith-based, non-denominational class (loosely based on Psalm 23) designed to meet weekly and assist women in healing from current or past abusive or controlling relationships.
  • To find groups that are meeting in your area or available online, call Abuse Recovery Ministries at 503-846-9284 or 866-262-9284

In November

We will be starting another Online "Mending the Soul Basic Group" process.  The deadline for sign-ups will be October 9th. If interested, get on the waitlist at https://mendyoursoul.com/wait-list-for-the-mending-the-soul-group.html, or click here for a Virtual Coffee chat to visit with me and learn more.

  • Mending the Soul offers those impacted by physical, sexual, spiritual, verbal, neglect, and other forms of abuse a safe place for transformative healing within a trauma-informed, theologically sound, nurturing community.
  • As a participant in a Mending the Soul Basic small group, healing awaits you within a safe and confidential small group community where peer survivors find the freedom to share their stories, often for the very first time. You will experience freedom and encouragement here as you make your way through the biblically-grounded, research-based, and psychologically integrated textbook and companion workbook.

Prayer Request

Please pray on our behalf that we may clearly know, decern and act upon God's will as His servants in what He wants to accomplish with His Ministry, Mend Your Soul Ministries.

A Resource(s)

Since I have recently been coaching women wrestling with God's heart regarding “headship” and “submission,” I thought I would share these resources, which may clarify what that may really mean and what that may really look like in a marriage relationship.

Leslie Vernick, a speaker, author, and licensed clinical social worker and relationship coach.

Marg Mowczko,  a theologian who explores the mutuality and equality of men and women in Christian marriage and ministry.

The Word

Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.

May I pray for you?

Lord, may Deanna be given blessing upon blessing as Deanna seeks to know and do Your will.  May Deanna find these blessings strewn along the path of each of Deanna days.  You promise to bless and keep the chosen and those who choose Your Son.  May Deanna accept Your promise, seek Your blessed presence always, and find blessed peace.
